Relación Predictiva entre la Actividad Física Habitual (PAQ-C) y el Índice de Masa Corporal en Futbolistas Infantiles: Análisis Multivariado ajustado por Edad y Carga de Entrenamiento
Resumen
La actividad física habitual y el estado nutricional son variables fundamentales para la salud y el desarrollo deportivo en futbolistas en formación. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar la relación entre el puntaje del Physical Activity Questionnaire for Older Children (PAQ-C) y el índice de masa corporal para la edad (IMC/edad), clasificado según la Organización Mundial de la Salud, en futbolistas de 8 a 13 años de la escuela de fútbol Galácticos, de la ciudad de Guaranda, provincia de Bolívar. Se desarrolló una investigación con enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, corte transversal y alcance descriptivo-correlacional. La muestra estuvo conformada por 60 participantes. Se aplicó la versión en español del PAQ-C, se recogió información sociodemográfica y deportiva, y se realizaron mediciones de peso y talla para calcular el IMC y el Z-IMC/edad. Los resultados mostraron un puntaje promedio de actividad física habitual de 3,21 ± 0,58, con predominio del nivel moderado (65,0 %). En relación con el estado nutricional, el 61,7 % presentó valores normales, mientras que el 23,3 % registró sobrepeso y el 10,0 % obesidad, lo que representa un 33,3 % con exceso de peso. Además, se observó una correlación negativa y significativa entre el PAQ-C y el IMC (ρ = -0,28; p = ,029), y una asociación inversa más consistente con el IMC para la edad (ρ = -0,35; p = ,007). También se identificó una correlación positiva entre el PAQ-C y los días de entrenamiento por semana (ρ = 0,32; p = ,014). Se concluye que mayores niveles de actividad física habitual se asocian con un perfil antropométrico más favorable.
