Efectos beneficiosos del sevoflurano sobre la hemorragia subaracnoidea
Resumen
El sevoflurano es un anestésico volátil que en los últimos años ha ganado una vital importancia por sus efectos beneficiosos sobre los diferentes tipos de hemorragias cerebrales. Numerosos estudios señalan la eficacia del sevoflurano con efecto protector contra el daño cerebral en diversos dominios. Juega un papel neuroprotector en la hemorragia subaracnoidea (HSA), la lesión cerebral traumática y la lesión por isquemia/reperfusión. Los hallazgos de la investigación actual demuestran que el sevoflurano posee capacidades neuroprotectoras y aclaran que atenúa eficazmente el daño secundario resultante de la HSA a través de vías antiinflamatorias y antiapoptóticas. Más específicamente, se ha observado que el sevoflurano mitiga el vasoespasmo arterial, disminuye la trombosis microvascular y alivia el edema cerebral. Por lo tanto, una comprensión profunda de las propiedades neuroprotectoras del sevoflurano es beneficiosa para explorar nuevas soluciones terapéuticas para la HSA y brindar a los médicos modalidades de tratamiento alternativas.
