Disponibilidad a la Donación de Órganos y Factores Asociados en Estudiantes Universitarios de Acapulco
Resumen
Objetivo: Estimar la prevalencia de la disponibilidad a la donación de órganos y sus factores asociados en estudiantes de la Universidad Autónoma de Guerrero. Material y métodos: Estudio transversal en estudiantes de licenciatura en Derecho de Acapulco. El instrumento de medición fue el cuestionario Actitud hacia la donación y trasplante de órganos. Se estimaron frecuencias simples y con el análisis bivariado y multivariado se estimó la fuerza de asociación, con la razón de momios e intervalos de confianza del 95%. Resultados: Se utilizaron 1,675 encuestas. El 33% (541) hombres y 67% (1,125) mujeres. La edad promedio fue de 21 años (DE: 4.04). El 73% (1,216/1,675) estuvo a favor de la donación. Los factores asociados fueron: reportar donación de órganos a un familiar (RMa 6.5, IC95% 4.73–8.92); interés sobre la donación (RMa 4.04, IC95% 2.15–7.58); hablar del tema con la familia (RMa 2.93, IC95% 2.17–3.96); creer llegar a necesitar un trasplante (RMa 1.79, IC95% 1.31–2.45); y profesar religión católica (RMa 1.8, IC95% 1.27–2.55). Quien tiene preocupación por las cicatrices corporales tuvo menor disponibilidad (RMa 0.46, IC95% 0.33–0.63). Conclusiones: Siete de cada diez estudiantes estarían dispuestos a donar sus órganos.
