Desarrollando Habilidades Lingüísticas en Inglés con Inteligencia Artificial: un Enfoque en la Lectura Crítica y la Comprensión

Resumen

La integración de la inteligencia artificial (IA) en la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera ha crecido de forma acelerada, aunque su aporte específico a la comprensión lectora y a la lectura crítica permanece disperso en la literatura. El objetivo de esta revisión sistemática fue sintetizar la evidencia empírica publicada entre 2020 y 2025 sobre el uso de herramientas de IA para el desarrollo de la comprensión lectora y la lectura crítica en aprendices de inglés (EFL/ESL). Se siguió la guía PRISMA 2020. La búsqueda se realizó en bases de datos y repositorios académicos en español e inglés, combinando descriptores relativos a inteligencia artificial, comprensión lectora, lectura crítica e inglés como lengua extranjera. Tras el cribado por título, resumen y texto completo se incluyeron treinta y dos estudios que cumplieron los criterios de elegibilidad. Los hallazgos se organizaron en cuatro ejes: efectos sobre la comprensión literal e inferencial, desarrollo de la lectura crítica y el pensamiento de orden superior, dimensiones afectivas y motivacionales, y condiciones pedagógicas de implementación. La evidencia sugiere que las intervenciones basadas en IA, cuando se acompañan de andamiaje pedagógico explícito, se asocian con mejoras en la comprensión y en habilidades críticas como la identificación de sesgos y la evaluación de argumentos. Persisten, no obstante, limitaciones metodológicas: predominio de intervenciones cortas, muestras reducidas y escasa representación de contextos hispanohablantes. Se concluye que la IA constituye un recurso prometedor para la lectura crítica en inglés, condicionado a un diseño instruccional deliberado y a la mediación docente.
