Factores asociados a la adherencia a la dieta mediterránea en pacientes que asisten a nutrición, Instituto Nacional del Diabético, Honduras de julio a octubre de 2024.
Resumen
La adherencia a la dieta mediterránea se ha asociado con beneficios en la prevención y manejo de la diabetes mellitus tipo 2 (DM2), al mejorar el control glucémico y reducir complicaciones cardiovasculares El principal objetivo fue identificar los factores clínicos y sociodemográficos asociados a la adherencia al tratamiento nutricional de los pacientes con Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2. Se realizó un estudio transversal en 155 pacientes con DM2 atendidos en el Instituto Nacional del Diabético (INADI), Tegucigalpa, entre julio y octubre de 2024. La adherencia se evaluó mediante el cuestionario MEDAS-14, clasificándola en alta (≥9 puntos), moderada (5–8.5 puntos) y baja (<5 puntos). Se analizaron variables sociodemográficas, antropométricas y bioquímicas. La media de adherencia fue 7.08 puntos; un 25.16% presentó alta adherencia y la mayoría se ubicó en el rango moderado. El nivel educativo superior se asoció significativamente con mayor adherencia (RP=0.3; p=0.01). Además, los pacientes con alta adherencia mostraron menor HbA1c y un perfil lipídico más favorable, aunque sin diferencias significativas en triglicéridos y LDL.
