Evaluación de Cambios Gingivales mediante Sondaje Periodontal en Pacientes con Biotipo Periodontal Delgado durante la fase de Alineación y Nivelación Ortodóntica en el Sector Anteroinferior
Resumen
Objetivo: Evaluar los cambios gingivales mediante sondaje periodontal en el sector anteroinferior durante la fase de alineación y nivelación ortodóntica en pacientes con biotipo periodontal delgado, atendidos en la Especialidad en Ortodoncia de la Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco durante el periodo agosto de 2025-junio de 2026. Metodología: Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo, observacional, longitudinal y prospectivo en 30 pacientes con aparatología fija y biotipo periodontal delgado. Se registró la profundidad de sondaje periodontal antes de la colocación de brackets y durante la fase inicial del tratamiento. El análisis incluyó estadística descriptiva, prueba t de Student para muestras relacionadas, chi-cuadrada y prueba exacta de Fisher. Resultados: Inicialmente, todos los pacientes presentaron profundidades de sondaje de 1 a 3 mm, con media de 2.00 mm. Después de un mes de tratamiento, la media aumentó a 3.15 mm y 17 pacientes (56.67%) presentaron valores de 4 a 5 mm. La diferencia de medias fue de 1.15 mm (t=6.98; gl=29; p<0.001). La asociación entre el periodo de evaluación y el aumento de profundidad de sondaje también fue significativa (χ²=24.83; p<0.001; Fisher p<0.001). No se observaron diferencias significativas según sexo o edad. Conclusiones: La fase de alineación y nivelación se asocia con cambios gingivales medibles mediante sondaje periodontal en pacientes con biotipo periodontal delgado, por lo que se recomienda el monitoreo periodontal y el control de higiene desde las etapas iniciales del tratamiento.
